Company History
Southwind brand Heat Pump Drying Systems have been operating since the early 1970's.
Southwind's current President Rick Hubbard joined his father in 1975 in the design, installation and maintenance of "SouthWind" industrial heat pump drying systems. The original SouthWind "Heat Pump
Dryer" was designed and manufactured for drying lumber. Shortly after,
this same technology was developed to serve the needs of the "salt fish"
industry in Atlantic Canada. They spent the next 25 years installing and commissioning these systems all over the world.
Southwind is a Nova
Scotia based company which has evolved into a world class supplier of innovative refrigeration systems used for
cooling, heating and drying a wide variety of products.
Today our "Heat Pump Dryers" are operating world-wide drying a wide variety of heat sensitive commodities.
